About the Event
Thanks to the Parochial Church Council's support, I am able to hold this class from which 100% of ticket sales will go to purchase necessary items for Ukrainian moms arriving at the help centre in my hometown Tychy, Poland. Rather than collecting items such as bedding, nappies, food over here and then sending all the way to Poland, the money will be spend directly there with local suppliers following the centre's instructions.
Please note I will take a group photo at this class for proof of number of tickets sold
Salsa classes, Cross Body Lead. No need to bring a partner, we switch around. Any level - absolute beginners please come on time - I'll show you basic before warm-up.
Why would you learn to salsa dance? To have fun mostly. Coming to classes puts you at risk of making new friends, having a giggle, keeping fit and keeping your brain super active while it's learning to coordinate your moves to the music. For this class I've decided on progressive approach to learning salsa. We will start at the basics and build up over the evening and coming weeks. Focusing on safe, comfortable technique, polite leading and active following. We are learning a move variations rather than a routine. Doors open at 8 pm Bring your own drink. £6 per person £5 with Totum or NUS card Paid cash - no card on this occasion, if you forgot cash, please pay directly to the fundraiser account.
Class is directed at adults, if you are under 18, please ask parents to get in touch to discuss safeguarding
First time learning to partner dance? Here's a few tips 1 Wear securely fitted shoes - ones that won't slip off, or flap about. Check if you are able to comfortably stand on tiptoes in them. 2 Leave your jewellery at home, watches can tangle in partners hair, earrings can get caught on partners sleeve etc 3 Wear whatever clothes you fancy, as long as you're comfortable 4 Don't stress. There is no exam or judges. We are learning to dance socially, i.e. for fun, not for competitions.
COVID SAFETY:
1. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell 2. It is your choice if you wish to wear a mask and if you want to switch partners or stay in bubble 3. Please use hand sanitizers available on site 4. Please do the Lateral Flow test before attending.
